We have prepared the following health technical advice to assist health services in managing the response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Isolation rooms
Health Technical Advice (HTA-2020-004) provides guidance to health agency staff and engineers on the types of isolation rooms available and the patients they are best suited for. This includes guidance on when an isolation room should be used for a COVID-19 patient.
Increasing bed capacity for COVID-19 patients
Health Technical Advice (HTA-2020-003) provides guidance to health agencies on infrastructure works and equipment provision that may be required to expand critical care capacity within existing hospital facilities to treat COVID-19 patients.

HVAC system strategies to airborne infectious outbreaks
Health Technical Advice (HTA-2020-001 Revision B) provides guidance to hospital engineers on actions that could be taken in the event of airborne infectious outbreaks with regards to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems installed within a healthcare facility.
