The Victorian Government is investing $33 million into the northern suburbs of Geelong to provide a new state-of-the-art healthcare facility designed to meet the growing needs of the community.
The Barwon Health North facility - located in Norlane on a portion of land housing the Waterworld Aquatic Centre, Corio Library and Centenary Hall - will provide high quality, accessible healthcare close to home. It will reduce pressure on our hospitals by giving people an alternative to going to an emergency department for non-emergency care.

The new Barwon Health North facility will provide comprehensive offerings bridging the gap between community health and specialised services typically offered in a hospital.
In addition to an urgent care centre, other services will include:
GP ‘walk-in’ services
renal dialysis facilities
clinical support services including medical imaging, pathology, pharmacy and consulting suites.
Through community consultation, a number of additional design features have been included into the built environment:
an adult all abilities toilet and showering facilities
baby change facilities
adult change table
volunteer's space
areas to charge mobile phones
children’s play area
seating in waiting areas to accommodate all abilities
This purpose-built child-friendly facility will provide:
easy access to paediatric specialists, such as audiologists and speech pathologists closer to home for residents in northern Geelong
provide continuity of care through co-ordinated health service delivery between Barwon Health, Barwon Health North and the University Hospital of Geelong
reduce pressure on local hospitals by giving people an alternative to going to an emergency department for non-emergency care.
The Corio Community Health Centre, which is also run by Barwon Health, will continue to operate and complement the range of services available at Barwon Health North.
