The redevelopment of the Goulburn Valley Health Shepparton Hospital will deliver new and expanded facilities to ensure people can gain faster access to first class care closer to home now and in the future.
The project will double the capacity of the emergency department, providing 36 treatment spaces and nine short stay beds for patients who need care for less than 24 hours. The project will also deliver 64 inpatient beds, 10 intensive care beds, seven operating theatres and a new kitchen.
A separate single storey dialysis department with 16 chairs will be built, doubling the number of dialysis units at the hospital.
The Shepparton Hospital redevelopment is being delivered by the Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority, in partnership with Goulbourn Valley Health.
