Wonthaggi Hospital expansion

The Victorian Government is ensuring regional communities receive the same standard and access to healthcare as metropolitan communities by providing $115 million to Bass Coast Health to expand Wonthaggi Hospital.

By 2031, the Bass Coast Shire population is expected to grow by an extra 55 per cent, making the region one of the highest growth areas in regional Victoria.

The hospital expansion project will build a new, larger emergency department, three new operating theatres and a new 32-bed inpatient ward to meet the community’s growing needs.
