"The Victorian Government is investing in better access and care to improve health outcomes in Melbourne’s inner west.

Melbourne’s western suburbs are forecast to grow by more than half a million residents over the next twenty years.

To support this we are building a new hospital that will deliver world-class care closer to home.

Providing a major investment in Footscray, it will revitalise the area, delivering more jobs and offering exciting opportunities for education and research.

Located on the car park site at the Victoria University Footscray Park campus, the new hospital will be close to public transport and opposite one of Melbourne’s leading universities.

This will transform Melbourne’s inner-west into a vibrant health, research and education precinct and cement Footscray as a thriving Activity Centre of Melbourne.

The new hospital is scheduled to open in 2025.

Building a better future for our community."
