Redeveloped Broadford Community Health Centre opens
Residents of Broadford and surrounding communities will now have access to more community health services with the opening of the redeveloped Broadford Community Health Centre.
The $3.7 million revamp will enable more community health services to be delivered to the growing community in the Mitchell Shire area.
The updated facility increased consulting spaces from seven to 23. These include general practice treatment rooms, multi-use consulting rooms and larger paediatric consulting areas for the delivery of paediatric allied health and counselling services.
Also included in the redevelopment are:
- wheelchair accessible security doors
- more toilets
- a large multipurpose activity and meeting room
- energy efficient climate control
- 20 additional contemporary office workstations.
The redevelopment will ensure there are more services to meet growing community demand and staff are better equipped to provide world-class care.
The Broadford Community Heath Centre is operated by Nexus Primary Health and the project was delivered in partnership with builder and architect, Interite.
Funding regional health infrastructure
The upgrade was funded through the $350 million Regional Health Infrastructure Fund. The fund is the largest of its kind in Victorian history and has funded 284 projects in just three years.
It delivers vital upgrades for regional and rural health, and aged care services. This means all Victorians can access the quality care and facilities they need – wherever they live.
